Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Orion's Comet LLC (Missouri, USA), which operates ManyTools at https://manytools.co (“ManyTools,” “we,” “us”), handles information when you use our calculators and pages.

The short version

Our calculators run in your browser. The values you enter into a calculator are processed on your own device and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. We use Google Analytics to measure overall traffic, and in the future we expect to display third-party advertising. Both of those use cookies, which this policy describes, along with how you can opt out.

Information you enter into calculators

ManyTools calculators are client-side. When you type a loan amount, rate, term, or any other figure into a tool, the calculation happens locally in your browser. We do not send those inputs to our servers, we do not log them, and we do not store them. Closing or refreshing the page clears them.

Information collected automatically (analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can improve it. GA4 sets cookies and collects standard analytics data, which may include your IP address (which Google shortens/anonymizes), device and browser type, referring website, the pages you view, and general location inferred from your IP. We use this data only in aggregate to measure traffic and usage patterns. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses data when you use partner sites. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our service providers use them for analytics and, in the future, advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can refuse non-essential cookies. Blocking cookies will not stop the calculators from working, since they run locally.

Advertising (third-party vendors)

ManyTools is supported by advertising. We do not currently display third-party ads, and when we do, this section governs them. We expect to work with third-party advertising vendors, including Google and advertising networks. These vendors, including Google as a third-party vendor, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to ManyTools and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google in your Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising from many third-party vendors through the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA / YourAdChoices). Users in the EU can use Your Online Choices.

When we introduce advertising, we will present a consent mechanism to users in regions that require it and update the effective date of this policy.

How we use information

We use the limited data we collect to operate and secure the site, measure and improve traffic and content, and, in the future, to fund the site through advertising. The site may also include affiliate links, where we may earn a commission if you buy from a partner, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links do not give us access to the information you enter into calculators. We do not sell the personal information you enter into calculators, because we never receive it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to opt out of certain processing.

California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may request access to or deletion of personal information and may opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. The use of advertising cookies described above may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out, use the Google and DAA/NAI controls linked above, enable a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, or email us at hello@getorionscomet.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.”

EEA / UK (GDPR). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing are your consent (for non-essential cookies and advertising), and our legitimate interest in measuring and improving the site. You may withdraw consent at any time, and you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing. Children’s privacy

ManyTools is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.

Data retention and security

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ data retention settings. Because calculator inputs never reach our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or expose from your calculations. We serve the site over HTTPS.

International users

We operate from the United States. If you access ManyTools from outside the United States, you understand that data processed through analytics and advertising providers may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes, including when we begin displaying advertising. We will revise the effective date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
