Time Zone Converter: See One Moment in Many Cities

Enter a date and time in one city and see the same moment in up to six others, with daylight saving time applied for that exact date.

Last updated: October 15, 2026How this is calculated →

Pick the date, the time and the city it is in, then the cities you want. 9:00 AM in New York on October 15, 2026 is 2:00 PM in London, 6:30 PM in India, 10:00 PM in Tokyo and 6:00 AM in Los Angeles. The answer depends on the date, because daylight saving time starts and ends on different days in different countries.

Results come from the copy of the time zone database built into your browser, which governments can make outdated by changing their clock rules at short notice. For flights, court deadlines, exams or contracts, confirm the time with the organizer, especially near a daylight saving change.

About the Time Zone Converter

A time zone is a set of rules, not just a fixed number of hours from UTC. Each region has its own rules for when daylight saving time starts and ends, and those rules change over the years, so this converter works from the date you enter rather than from a single offset. It looks up every zone's rules for that exact moment in the time zone database your browser carries, the same kind of record that browsers and servers read. New York and London are usually five hours apart, but for a few weeks each spring and autumn the gap is four, because the United States and Europe change their clocks on different Sundays. Not every offset is a whole hour: India runs at UTC+05:30, Nepal at UTC+05:45 and Newfoundland at UTC-03:30 in winter and UTC-02:30 in summer. Twice a year, some local times either do not exist or happen twice. When clocks spring forward, a time such as 2:30 AM on March 8, 2026 in New York never happens, so the converter says so and reads it as 3:30 AM. When clocks fall back, 1:30 AM on November 1, 2026 happens twice, and the converter flags it and uses the first.

Frequently asked questions

How many hours ahead is London from New York?+

Usually five. For a few weeks in March and again from late October to early November the gap is four, because the United States moves its clocks on a different Sunday from the United Kingdom. Enter your date to see the gap that applies.

Why does a time say it does not exist?+

On the night clocks spring forward, an hour is skipped. In New York on March 8, 2026, the clock goes from 1:59 AM straight to 3:00 AM, so 2:30 AM never happens there. The converter reads it as 3:30 AM, which is what a clock that had not been changed would show, and tells you.

Does it handle places without daylight saving time?+

Yes. Arizona outside the Navajo Nation, Hawaii, India, China, Japan and many other places keep one offset all year, so in summer Phoenix matches Los Angeles and in winter it matches Denver. The converter follows each zone's own rules.

What does next day or previous day mean in the results?+

It marks a city where the same moment falls on a different calendar date. Midnight on January 1 in Kathmandu is still 6:15 PM on December 31 in UTC, so the UTC line shows the previous day.
