Salary Calculator (Hourly ↔ Annual)
Convert any pay rate into hourly, weekly, monthly, and annual — gross, before taxes.
To turn an hourly wage into an annual salary, multiply the rate by hours worked per week and then by 52 weeks. At $25 an hour and 40 hours a week that's $52,000 a year — about $4,333 a month, $2,000 every two weeks, or $1,000 a week. To go the other way, divide the annual salary back down. These are gross figures, before taxes and deductions.
These are gross pay figures before taxes, benefits, and other deductions — your take-home pay will be lower. Amounts are estimates for comparison and planning, not payroll or tax advice.

About the Salary Calculator
This calculator converts a rate of pay between every common pay period so you can compare offers and budget on the same footing. Enter an hourly wage and it works upward — daily, weekly, every-two-weeks, twice-a-month, monthly, and annual — or enter an annual salary and it works back down to an hourly rate. The math is straightforward: annual pay is your hourly rate times the hours you work each week times 52 weeks in a year, and every other period is that annual figure divided appropriately (twelve months, 26 biweekly periods, 24 semi-monthly periods, 52 weeks). Because a month isn't exactly four weeks, the monthly and biweekly numbers are the annual salary spread evenly, not one literal month's timesheet — which is the honest way to compare a salaried offer against an hourly one. The default is a 40-hour week, but you can change the hours per week to model part-time or overtime-heavy schedules. One thing to keep in mind: every number here is gross pay, before income tax, payroll tax, health premiums, and retirement contributions come out. Your actual take-home pay will be lower, and how much lower depends on where you live and your personal situation.
Frequently asked questions
How do you convert hourly pay to an annual salary?+
Multiply your hourly rate by the hours you work per week, then by 52 weeks. At $25/hour for 40 hours a week: $25 × 40 × 52 = $52,000 a year. Change the hours per week to match your real schedule for part-time or overtime work.
How do you convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?+
Divide the annual salary by 52 weeks and then by the hours you work each week. A $52,000 salary at 40 hours a week is $52,000 ÷ 52 ÷ 40 = $25 an hour. This is the gross rate, before taxes.
Is this my take-home pay?+
No. Every figure here is gross pay — the amount before income tax, Social Security and Medicare, health insurance, and retirement contributions are deducted. Your net take-home pay will be lower and depends on your location, filing status, and benefits.
Why doesn't the monthly figure equal one month of paychecks?+
Because months aren't equal and don't line up with weeks. The monthly number here is your annual salary divided by twelve — an even spread — which is the right figure for budgeting and comparing jobs, even though a single month's paychecks may be slightly more or less.
What's the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly pay?+
Biweekly means every two weeks — 26 paychecks a year. Semi-monthly means twice a month, usually the 15th and last day — 24 paychecks a year. Biweekly checks are a little smaller because there are two more of them; both add up to the same annual total.
